Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gilmarc Nangel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Dragonez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gilmarc Nangel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Dragonez! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dragonez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Nangel counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Nangel. Nangel wants to get up but he can't break Dragonez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Nangel postures up.
Nangel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dragonez is keeping the position for now. Nangel wants to control from the top but Dragonez keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Gilmarc Nangel just wasn't active enough. Nangel feints and as Dragonez raises his hands in defense, Nangel changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Nangel lands a couple of elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nangel wants to get up but he can't break Dragonez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Nangel looking to sit in guard and control but Dragonez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Nangel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dragonez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nangel trying to keep a closed guard but Dragonez is proving a slippery customer.
Nangel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nangel has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Dragonez has passed into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dragonez is working to tighten is grip on Nangel's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Nangel has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Dragonez is really squeezing tight and eventually Nangel passes out! Dragonez breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Daniel Dragonez!
