Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Takahari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Slaughter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yoshi Takahari! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slaughter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Takahari keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Takahari closes the distance and clinches. Slaughter avoiding damage as Takahari throws knees to the body.
Takahari has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Slaughter avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Takahari wants a takedown but no success here.

Takahari tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Slaughter's elbow. Takahari gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Slaughter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Slaughter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Takahari misses with a short punch on the inside. Slaughter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Takahari fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slaughter shoots in looking for a takedown. Takahari tries to sprawl out of it but Slaughter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Takahari manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Yoshi Takahari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takahari tries a head kick but it misses.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Takahari closes the distance but Slaughter moves to the side and Slaughter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slaughter is trying to work for a kimura but Takahari is defending well.
Slaughter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Takahari doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Slaughter. Takahari is trying to stand back up but Slaughter is controlling him

That's three minutes gone in the round. Slaughter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Takahari has managed to free his arm - good work. Slaughter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Takahari sees it coming and defends easily. Takahari is looking to control Slaughter's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Takahari avoid being mounted? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slaughter content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Slaughter stops Takahari from getting back to his feet.
Slaughter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Slaughter thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Takahari to regain full guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Slaughter's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Slaughter throwing strikes but missing. Slaughter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Takahari keeping moving, preventing Slaughter from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Takahari tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Slaughter dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Slaughter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Takahari pinned against the cage. Takahari gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Slaughter shoots in but no luck this time. Takahari misses with a body kick. Takahari tries to clinch and Slaughter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Slaughter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Slaughter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Takahari works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Slaughter wants to control from the top but Takahari keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takahari wants to get back to his feet but Slaughter passes into half guard.
Slaughter is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Takahari still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Takahari has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Takahari wants to stand but Slaughter is controlling his arm. Slaughter is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Takahari off and has taken his back! Slaughter keeps control of the position easily here as Takahari tries to buck him off.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Slaughter has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Slaughter working for the choke. Slaughter tightening his grip on Takahari, looking for the choke. Slaughter is persistently looking for the submission but Takahari is defending it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takahari is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Takahari is keeping busy.
Takahari is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Slaughter gets his way!

Slaughter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Takahari manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Slaughter has Takahari in his guard. Slaughter had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Takahari defends it easily. Slaughter working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Takahari has passed into half guard!
That's one minute gone in the round. Slaughter is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Takahari pulls his head out easily. Takahari wants to stand up but Slaughter has a hold of him and won't allow it. Slaughter looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Slaughter looking for submissions off his back. Slaughter looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Takahari gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Takahari misses the body punch and Slaughter counters with a nice double leg into guard. Slaughter wants to control from the top but Takahari keeps moving. Slaughter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Takahari manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Slaughter has Takahari in his guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Slaughter has an active guard here but Takahari has managed to pass into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slaughter is controlling Takahari's trapped leg to prevent Takahari from advancing to side control. Takahari wants to take a breather but Slaughter is having none of it. Takahari tries to stand but can't do so whilst Slaughter controls his leg. Slaughter misses with some strikes from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Slaughter has a hand on Takahari's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Takahari takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Slaughter throwing hammer fists to the chest of Takahari. What's that going to do exactly? Slaughter is working to get back to half guard.
Yoshi Takahari has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Takahari sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Takahari avoids the attempt from Slaughter to control. Slaughter working to try and regain half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Josh Slaughter showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Slaughter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
