Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lew Collinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Hettish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Lew Collinson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Lew Collinson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lew Collinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fred Hettish! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Collinson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hettish napping and manages to drive through into side control! You can see the frustration on Hettish's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hettish is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Collinson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hettish trying to control here.
Hettish is trying to get back to full guard. Hettish kicks Collinson off and gets back to his feet. Hettish keeps the fight on the outside. No luck for Hettish with that takedown attempt. Hettish shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Collinson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Collinson regains half guard. Hettish working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hettish is thwarting Collinson's attempts to control the position. Hettish wants to free his trapped foot but Collinson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Collinson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Collinson. Collinson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Collinson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hettish throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Collinson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hettish pushing down on Collinson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Ground and pound from Hettish.

Collinson is breathing heavily. Hettish in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hettish trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Collinson is trying to control the position but Hettish postures up. Hettish drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hettish jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Collinson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hettish feints and as Collinson raises his hands in defense, Hettish changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Collinson pulls Hettish in close to prevent any damage. Collinson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hettish trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Collinson has momentary wrist control but Hettish slips an elbow through the middle. Hettish scoring with punches to the head and body. Collinson keeping full guard, as Hettish tries to pass. Hettish is looking to work some ground and pound but Collinson has wrist control. Hettish works over Collinson with some ground and pound from guard. Collinson trying to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hettish trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hettish's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hettish throwing strikes but missing. Collinson trying to keep a closed guard but Hettish is proving a slippery customer.
Hettish stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Collinson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hettish throws a big right hand that misses. Hettish content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Collinson controls Hettish momentarily but Hettish frees himself. Hettish postures up in Collinson's guard and throws a big left but Collinson blocks it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Fred Hettish will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hettish gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Collinson passes Hettish's left leg - he's now in half guard. Lew Collinson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hettish is trying to control but Collinson passes into side control!
Hettish is trying to control Collinson's posture but Collinson avoids it. Hettish is looking for a sweep. Hettish regains half guard. Hettish is positioning himself well to prevent Collinson advancing to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Collinson wants to control but Hettish is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Collinson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hettish gets full guard. Hettish is trying to control the position but Collinson postures up. Collinson preventing the sweep. Collinson passes into half guard. Collinson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Hettish gets full guard. Hettish has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Collinson has passed into side control.
Hettish avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Collinson.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Hettish's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Collinson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hettish's shoulder. That is not cool. Collinson trying to control the position but Hettish is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hettish is looking to regain half guard here but Collinson keeps moving and retains side control. Collinson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hettish keeps working. Hettish tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Collinson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hettish wants to control but Collinson postures up. Hettish defending against the ground and pound. Collinson working away. Hettish is not content to let Collinson control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Collinson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hettish is trying to defend but Collinson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hettish blocking the ground and pound attempt from Collinson.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hettish is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Collinson tries to pass to full mount but Hettish defends it. Collinson not doing much here.
Hettish is concentrating on defense, preventing Collinson from advancing position. Collinson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hettish's head. Hettish is trying to maintain the position but Collinson is very close to passing his half guard. Collinson trying to control the action but Hettish is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lew Collinson dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Hettish has a takedown stuffed. Collinson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Collinson showed some decent athleticism there. Well, if Collinson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Fred Hettish hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A momentary lapse in concentration from Hettish enables Collinson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hettish manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hettish keeping full guard, as Collinson tries to pass. Hettish is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Collinson is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hettish wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Hettish can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Collinson controls the pace. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hettish gets caught napping as Collinson dives in and scores a takedown. Hettish manages to retain guard. Hettish controlling the position. Hettish is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hettish is trying to keep Collinson in close.

Collinson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hettish is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
