PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Captain Beefheart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamalski Ramirezovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beefheart comes to the cage accompanied by Yellow Snow. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Captain Beefheart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamalski Ramirezovic!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beefheart decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ramirezovic, up you get!

Beefheart throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ramirezovic was covering up waiting for the punch and Beefheart finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Beefheart fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Beefheart will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Beefheart fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ramirezovic has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Jamalski Ramirezovic has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Beefheart shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ramirezovic pinned against the cage. Ramirezovic gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Beefheart feints and as Ramirezovic raises his hands in defense, Beefheart changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Captain Beefheart.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Beefheart, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
