Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Clancey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Grossman! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Dean Styles and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grossman misses with a looping right. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Clancey scores with a body shot.
Grossman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Grossman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Grossman is looking to clinch but Clancey is avoiding it.
Grossman swings for the body but Clancey moves out of range.
Grossman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Clancey.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grossman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Clancey was covering up waiting for the punch and Grossman finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Grossman throwing strikes but missing. Grossman postures up in Clancey's guard and throws a big left but Clancey blocks it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grossman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Grossman throws a strike but Clancey rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Clancey accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grossman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Clancey's guard. Clancey keeping full guard, as Grossman tries to pass. Clancey looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Grossman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Grossman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Grossman drops back looking for a leg! Clancey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Clancey manages to kick Grossman off! Grossman jumps back into Clancey's guard. Grossman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grossman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Clancey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Grossman throwing strikes but missing. Grossman advances position into side control! Grossman has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Clancey! Clancey tries to hold on but Grossman pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clancey is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Grossman trying to control but he's not successful this time. Poor strikes thrown by Grossman there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Clancey taking shots to the head. Grossman thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
BOOM! Grossman connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Clancey wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Clancey is breathing heavily. Clancey just trying to survive but Grossman is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robert Grossman dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Grossman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clancey takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Grossman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Clancey avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Tom Clancey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Grossman. Grossman lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Grossman trying to control from half guard but Clancey is working away. Grossman is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Clancey has managed to free his arm - good work. Clancey is defending against the submission attempts here by Grossman.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Grossman sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Clancey defending well though. Clancey avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Grossman. Grossman is working for a submission of some sort.
Grossman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grossman not landing any meaningful shots this time. Grossman is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Clancey sees it coming and defends easily. Grossman lands with a punch from half guard. Grossman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Grossman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Clancey does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Clancey is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
