Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Windchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Rill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joao Rill told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Rill moves into the clinch. Windchester on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rill throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rill keeps control of Windchester as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Rill lands with a left to the head. Windchester wants to get back to striking at distance but Rill won't allow it.
A short right from Rill.
Rill manages to pull guard.
Rill is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Windchester is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Windchester looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Windchester has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rill is proving hard to escape from. Windchester will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rill wants to sweep but Windchester has passed to side control! Rill seems a little lost for a moment, as Windchester dominates the positioning.

Rill avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Windchester. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. A control attempt from Rill but he's now mounted! Windchester misses with a head shot. Windchester tries to control but Rill wriggling away. Windchester is stalling here but it's allowed Rill to get half guard.

Rill is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Rill keeping moving, preventing Windchester from controlling successfully.

Windchester trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Windchester missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Windchester passes Rill's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Rill is defending against the submission attempts here by Windchester.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rill is refusing to be controlled, as Windchester sits in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that David Windchester will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Windchester tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rill sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Windchester somewhat. Windchester keeps the fight on the outside.
Windchester scores with a takedown into Rill's guard. Windchester stays in close to Rill's body and controls the position. Windchester missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rill working a defensive guard but Windchester manages to pass into side control anyway.
Windchester really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Windchester has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Rill fails in his attempt to clinch. Rill is breathing heavily. Windchester stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Windchester wants it to stay on the feet. Windchester tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rill counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rill. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Rill. With the fighters up against the cage, Rill throws an elbow but misses. Windchester blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Rill makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Rill being controlled against the cage.

Windchester fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Windchester. That's going to take a lot out of him. Windchester stalling in the clinch but Rill improves position. Windchester keeps control of Rill as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Rill tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Windchester stalling in the clinch but Rill improves position. Windchester tries to circle away but Rill has him pinned against the cage. Windchester can't find room to land a body shot as Rill controls the action.
Windchester drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rill pulls his leg out and moves away.
Windchester misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rill shoots in but Windchester avoids the takedown attempt easily. Windchester tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rill manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Rill has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Windchester. Joao Rill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Windchester shoots in looking for a takedown but Rill manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Windchester's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Windchester has closed the distance and engaged Rill in a clinch.
Windchester has clasped his hands together around Rill's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Windchester stands up. Rill walks into a stiff left hand from Windchester. Windchester looks for a takedown but Rill sprawls well. Windchester wants to clinch. Rill throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Windchester stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Rill moves out of range of the strikes. Rill looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Windchester is fending him off so far but Rill persists. Nope, Windchester circles away and we're back to standing.

Windchester has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Windchester is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Windchester blocks an elbow strike from Rill.
Windchester fails to pull guard.
Rill scores a nice knee to the body.
Windchester is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Rill pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Windchester wants a takedown but no success here.
Rill drags the fight down to the ground.
Windchester wants to control from the top but Rill keeps moving. Windchester is looking to advance position but Rill has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Windchester dominated that second round. That's time! Windchester's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!
Windchester with a poor takedown
and Rill counters with a single leg into guard. Windchester didn't expect that. Rill with a flurry of punches that miss. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rill's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Rill really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Windchester. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Windchester controls Rill momentarily but Rill frees himself. Windchester keeping moving, preventing Rill from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Windchester is on top in guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Windchester trying to control the position from guard on top but Rill is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Windchester controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Windchester is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rill can't fight it off and eventually Windchester manages to take the fight to the floor. Rill looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Rill working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Windchester tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rill just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Windchester. That's going to take a lot out of him. Windchester jumps guard but Rill stands there with Windchester around his waist. Windchester gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Joao Rill has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! David Windchester is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Windchester avoids the elbow strike from Rill, against the cage.
Rill tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Windchester avoids it.
And that's the end of the fight! David Windchester showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Windchester, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
