Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Shannigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shannigan comes into the arena with Slaughtered blaring out of the sound system. Steel has chosen Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen as his entrance music. Max Steel has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tommy Shannigan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Shannigan! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Steel! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shannigan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Steel moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Shannigan. Steel does a little dance to reset his feet. Sloppy strikes from Shannigan. Those never looked like landing. Shannigan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Steel moves away. Steel on the wrong end of a nice hook. Steel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Shannigan jabbing away but nothing is landing. Shannigan misses with a looping left. Shannigan works over Steel's head and body with a nice combination. Shannigan throws a right hand that misses
and Steel counters with a lovely straight right hand! Shannigan misses with a straight right. Shannigan just misses with a punch to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Steel thows a left - swing and a miss!
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Shannigan moves out of range as Steel strikes. Steel scores with a punch to the head. Shannigan throws a right and a left that Steel avoids nicely. Shannigan lands a jab. Shannigan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Steel manages to avoid it. Shannigan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Steel sees it coming and avoids it easily. Shannigan throws a series of punches but Steel avoids them all with ease. Shannigan throws a shot from downtown. Steel moves away and avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shannigan swings for the body but Steel moves out of range.

Shannigan misses with a kick to the body and Steel counters with a straight right hand. Steel walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Steel throws a chopping leg kick but Shannigan manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Steel moves out of range as Shannigan strikes. Steel connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Shannigan's hands. Shannigan works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shannigan throws a leg kick and Steel counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. A jab from Shannigan misses. Steel takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Shannigan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Steel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Steel staying out of range there. Steel uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shannigan. Steel looking to land some kicks to the body here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shannigan throws a jab but it's blocked by Steel. Some wild striking there from Shannigan.
Steel slips under a jab. Shannigan thows a body shot but no joy. Steel takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shannigan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Steel manages to avoid it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Steel lands a nice hook to Shannigan's body. Shannigan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Steel throws a leg kick but Shannigan sees it coming and moves out of range. A jab from Shannigan misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Shannigan will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Shannigan swings widly with a right hand
letting Steel counter with a right hand. Shannigan lands a slapping body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shannigan connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Steel's hands. Shannigan throws a left and a right that both miss
and Steel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Shannigan misses with a double jab
and Steel counters with a body kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Steel moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Shannigan goes down! Can Steel finish him!?
Shannigan is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Steel is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Oh Shannigan is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Shannigan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shannigan tries to get out of the position. Steel trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Steel in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Shannigan seems to have got his legs back now. Shannigan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Steel. Steel postures up in Shannigan's guard and throws a big left but Shannigan blocks it. Steel stays in close to Shannigan's body and controls the position. Steel trying to control but Shannigan is working from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Max Steel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Steel ducks under a wild hook from Shannigan. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Steel. A jab from Shannigan misses. Steel throws a series of punches but Shannigan avoids them all with ease. Steel slips a jab from Shannigan. Shannigan misses with a hook to the body
and Steel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Shannigan moves into range and connects with a jab. Shannigan misses with an uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shannigan ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Shannigan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Steel counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Steel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Steel slips a straight right by Shannigan. Steel lands with a good body shot. Steel takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Shannigan looks to score with a jab to the body but Steel is just out of range. Steel ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Steel scores with a nice strike. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shannigan throws a body punch but Steel moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steel blocks a leg kick. A good leg kick by Shannigan. Steel misses with a hook. Shannigan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Steel. Shannigan throws a lazy right hand but Steel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Shannigan throws a good cross that connects.
Shannigan misses with a jab to the body
and Steel counters with a straight punch to the midsection. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Shannigan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Shannigan gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Shannigan tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Steel is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Shannigan buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Shannigan!! Shannigan is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Steel throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Max Steel! Max Steel is the new light heavyweight champion!
