The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins throws a leg kick
and Zanico counters with a takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zanico is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hopkins knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Zanico is trying to get an arm triangle but Hopkins is defending well.
Zanico tries to advance to mount but Hopkins denies him.
Zanico advances to full mount.

Zanico is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Zanico extends the arm and Hopkins is forced to tap!
