Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Derek Scarlatti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Centrino!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scarlatti tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Centrino shoots in looking for a takedown. Scarlatti tries to sprawl out of it but Centrino keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Scarlatti manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Centrino gets caught napping as Scarlatti dives in and scores a takedown. Centrino manages to retain guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Scarlatti shoots in and drives through. Centrino sprawls well.
Centrino closes the distance and clinches up with Scarlatti, looking for a takedown. Centrino pushes Scarlatti against the cage but Scarlatti circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Centrino takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

and Scarlatti counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Centrino is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Scarlatti tries to close the distance and clinch up but Centrino swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Scarlatti is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Scarlatti misses with a takedown attempt - Centrino sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Centrino shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Scarlatti sprawls well. Scarlatti wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Centrino gets slowly back to his feet.

Centrino throws a strike but Scarlatti rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Scarlatti accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Centrino can do anything to dispel that myth.

Tommy Centrino has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Centrino shoots for a takedown but Scarlatti saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Scarlatti fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Derek Scarlatti will probably get the nod.

Centrino closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Scarlatti has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

You get the feeling that Centrino really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

I would just about give that final round to Tommy Centrino.
