Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trevor Gore!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Gore blocks the leg kick.
Santel with a poor takedown

so Gore counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Gore stopping the sweep attempt from Santel.
Santel is working hard here to advance position.
Gore tries to free his leg and advance position but Santel is retaining full guard.
Santel trying to keep a closed guard but Gore is proving a slippery customer.
Gore passes Santel's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gore is pressing down on Santel's thigh, looking to free his foot. Santel is holding on for now.

Santel tries to get to full guard but Gore has control of the leg.

Gore is trying to work for a kimura but Santel is defending well.
Santel is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gore's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gore's back!

Santel lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Gore has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Santel.
Gore covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Santel has the hooks in. Gore is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Gore trying to control the action but Santel just sinks the hooks in.
Gore manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Gore.
Santel wants to control from the top but Gore keeps moving.
Santel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Santel throws and elbow that misses. Gore uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Santel's guard. Nice move by Gore!

Gore stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Santel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gore trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Santel wants to sweep but no luck.

and Gore counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Santel's guard now.
Gore sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Santel's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santel is not content to let Gore control the position.
Santel is trying to get back to full guard.

Santel is staying active underneath Gore, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gore is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Santel defends it well.
Santel flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Gore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Santel keeps working.
Gore works his foot free and advances to mount.

Gore is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Santel can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Santel defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gore.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gore looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Gore thows a body shot but no joy.
Santel gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Gore decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Santel's guard.
Santel throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Gore with a flurry of punches that miss.
Santel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Gore postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Trevor Gore has got the better of the ground game so far.
Santel trying to control the position.
Gore preventing the sweep.
Gore is pushing down on Santel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Santel is fighting to maintain full guard but Gore has managed to sneak the leg through.
Santel is looking for a sweep. Gore is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gore is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Santel sees it coming and defends easily.

Gore moves into full mount! Santel won't be happy about that!
Gore avoids the attempt from Santel to control.
Santel tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Santel is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gore blocks Santel's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Santel really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Gore postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Santel looks a forlorn figure.

Gore is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Santel has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Poor strikes thrown by Gore there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Santel is looking to get to half guard.

Gore working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Santel turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Gore off and cradles Santel's limp body as Gore celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Trevor Gore!
