Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Watson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Watson misses.
Thurgood throws an off balance right hand

and Watson counters with a single leg into guard. Thurgood didn't expect that.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Thurgood bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Watson's guard.
Thurgood working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Thurgood wants to control from the top but Watson keeps moving.

Watson pushes Thurgood off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Watson catches Thurgood with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Thurgood defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Watson.
Brian Watson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thurgood fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Watson is trying to push Thurgood away but Thurgood has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Thurgood breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Watson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A clash of legs there as Watson blocks the low kick.
Watson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thurgood moves away.
Thurgood jabs Watson right on the nose. Watson blinks but takes it well.
Thurgood throws a right and a left that both miss.
Watson lands a body shot.
Watson moves out of range of the leg kick from Thurgood.
Watson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thurgood sprawls well. Thurgood wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Watson gets slowly back to his feet.

Thurgood gets caught flat footed, as Watson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Watson is trying to control. Thurgood wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Watson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Thurgood knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Watson is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Thurgood is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Watson scores with a couple of nice shots.
Thurgood is refusing to be controlled, as Watson sits in half guard.
Watson lands strikes from half guard.
Thurgood is looking for a sweep. Watson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Watson thows a huge punch but Thurgood dodges it nicely.
Thurgood keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Watson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Thurgood wants to improve his position but Watson is controlling well.
Watson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Thurgood's head.

Watson dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Thurgood has had enough and taps out.
