Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Cho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Kenny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jerry Cho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Glenn Kenny!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cho pivots, looking for a leg kick but Kenny is out of range and Cho settles back down.
Cho scores with the left hand. Kenny knows he should have avoided that one.
Kenny shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cho as he avoids it easily.

Kenny shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kenny was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cho tries to lock up and control but Kenny gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Cho wants to control but Kenny is having none of it.

Cho is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kenny is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cho can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Cho is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Cho regains half guard.
Cho looks like he's trying to stand up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kenny in particular looking to stall.
Kenny is tying to control. Cho wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Cho knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kenny on the ground.
Kenny is taking a breather. Cho says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kenny stops Cho from getting back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cho misses with a wild combination.
Kenny tries to clinch up but Cho circles away and keeps his distance.
A swing and a miss from Cho.
Cho moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Kenny throws a head kick but Cho moves out of range.

and Kenny counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Cho is trying to stand up here but Kenny is controlling him well.
Cho is breathing heavily.
Kenny tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Cho.

Kenny postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Cho to stand up.

Cho is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cho misses with a hook
and Kenny counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Cho rushes Kenny and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cho tries to break the clinch but Kenny is controlling the position.

Cho breaks from the clinch.

Kenny takes the fight into the clinch.
Kenny fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Kenny tightens his grip and picks Cho up, before dumping him to the ground. Cho manages to land in guard.
Cho wants to get back to his feet but Kenny is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Cho controls Kenny momentarily but Kenny frees himself.
Kenny lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Kenny stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cho swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kenny prevents Cho from getting back to his feet.
Cho wants to sweep but no luck.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kenny closes the distance and clinches.

Kenny ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kenny no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kenny lands a good elbow from the bottom.

Kenny manages to escape and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glenn Kenny dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cho throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Cho scores with a kick to the body.
Kenny swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kenny throws a sloppy head kick and Cho moves out of range easily.

Kenny feints and as Cho raises his hands in defense, Kenny changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kenny stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cho swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kenny is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kenny lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cho manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Kenny shoots in and bounces Cho off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kenny seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Cho throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kenny sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Kenny displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cho throws out the jab.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Glenn Kenny showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


No joy there for Cho, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Cho counters by moving into the clinch.
Kenny has Cho pressed against the cage.
Kenny is pressed up against the cage. Cho has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kenny down to the mat. Kenny avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Cho throws a series of punches but Kenny avoids them all with ease.

Cho is looking to stand up but Kenny isn't so interested in that idea.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Kenny walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Cho lands with a cross.
A head kick from Cho lands but Kenny takes it in his stride.

Cho moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kenny is still on wobbly legs! Can Cho finish him?
Kenny looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Cho counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kenny thinking.
Kenny seems to have recovered his senses.
Kenny misses with a takedown attempt - Cho sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jerry Cho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Glenn Kenny.

Cho drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kenny pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cho throws a combination. Kenny tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

The fight stays on the outside here - Cho looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Cho is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Nice straight punches there by Cho. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cho.

Cho manages to escape and get back to his feet!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kenny looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Cho moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jerry Cho.
I think Kenny has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
