Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Relentless AD!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Connor Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
AD with a lazy takedown attempt

so Ryan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
AD wants to hit a switch here but Ryan passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for AD there!
AD can't escape the position.
Ryan content just to control the position here.
Ryan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
AD is desperately trying to improve his position but Ryan has a good base and remains in mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ryan wants to control the pace but AD is squirming around nicely.
AD blocking the ground and pound.
AD is in all sorts of trouble here.

AD wants to control but Ryan is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ryan throws a sloppy strike and AD uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and AD has ended up in Ryan's guard.

AD drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ryan dives on top into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ryan wants to pass the guard but AD is keeping the position.

Ryan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of AD is proving hard to escape from.
Ryan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ryan trying to control the position from guard on top but AD is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Connor Ryan.
Ryan misses with a few strikes there.

A nice combination there by Ryan.


It looks like Relentless AD has been cut.

Ryan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for AD!
AD is squirming around, avoiding Ryan's attempts to control the action.
AD is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ryan cracks AD with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
AD wants to hold on but Ryan pushes him away.
Ryan punching from mount but AD doing a good job of avoiding damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ryan wants to clinch up but AD keeps it at a distance.
Ryan tries for a takedown but AD circles away easily

and AD counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by AD.
Ryan is looking to stand up but AD isn't so interested in that idea.

AD wants to control from the top but Ryan keeps moving.
Ryan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
AD advances position into side control!
Ryan can't do much from the bottom here.

AD is trying to get an arm triangle but Ryan is defending well.

You can see the frustration on Ryan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

AD is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ryan has escaped the position, nice work there.

AD working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
AD wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ryan keeps working.
Ryan is trying to improve his position.

AD is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ryan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ryan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, AD asserts his dominance and retains side control.

AD goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Ryan rolls with the submission and now he's on top in AD's guard! Nice work there by Ryan!

Ryan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ryan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
AD pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ryan is keeping the position for now.

AD might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

AD thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Ryan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
AD missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
AD tries to free his leg and advance position but Ryan is retaining full guard.
Connor Ryan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

AD drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ryan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now AD has Ryan in his guard.
Ryan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

AD has an active guard here but Ryan has managed to pass into half guard.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Ryan tries to close the distance and clinch but AD swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ryan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ryan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ryan stands up from mount. Strange move.
Ryan misses with a head kick.
Ryan shoots in but AD avoids the takedown attempt easily.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from AD is defended easily by Ryan.
AD tries to clinch up but Ryan circles away and keeps his distance.

Ryan moves into the clinch.

AD tightens his grip and picks Ryan up, before dumping him to the ground. Ryan manages to land in guard.
AD wants to pass the guard but Ryan is keeping the position.
Ryan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
AD throws a strike but Ryan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ryan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ryan tries to free his leg and advance position but AD is retaining full guard.
AD controls Ryan momentarily but Ryan frees himself.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
AD trying to keep a closed guard but Ryan is proving a slippery customer.

We're going to have a standup here because Relentless AD wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
AD displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ryan.

Ryan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ryan tries to circle away but AD has him pinned against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

AD has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ryan regains guard immediately.

I would just about give that final round to Connor Ryan.
Well Ryan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
