The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt
and Alves counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Alves makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Alves just misses with a punch to the body.
Alves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Johnson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Alves ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Alves finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alves throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Alves lands a nice looking body shot.
Alves drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Johnson's head, knocking him out cold! Alves is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
