Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Vass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Africanus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vass's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Highway to Hell (AC/DC). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Vass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Julius Africanus! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vass looks for a takedown but Africanus sprawls well. Africanus lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Africanus lands a head kick. Vass smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Nick Vass has been cut. A clash of legs there as Vass blocks the low kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Africanus closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Vass quickly recovers to half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Africanus moves nicely into side control. Vass wants to control but Africanus postures up. Vass manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Vass trying to hold on to Africanus's head to control him but Africanus postures up.
Africanus lands strikes from half guard. Africanus throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Africanus is thwarting Vass's attempts to control the position. Africanus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Vass trying to hold on to Africanus's head to control him but Africanus postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vass keeps control of the position for the meantime. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Africanus lands a nice short elbow. Africanus is thwarting Vass's attempts to control the position. Africanus wants to pass the guard but Vass is defending well. Vass is trying to stand back up but Africanus is controlling him

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nick Vass wasn't doing enough on the ground. Vass takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Vass fails to land the takedown. Vass wants to slow Africanus down by chopping away at his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Africanus stuffs the takedown attempt from Vass. Vass gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Vass. That's going to take a lot out of him. Africanus fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Vass is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Africanus fails to land the takedown. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Vass. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Vass dives in and grabs Africanus's left leg, looking for a takedown. Africanus pushes down on Vass's head and hops out. Vass forces Africanus back against the cage and clinches. Africanus lands a good knee to the midsection. Vass won't want to take too many of those. Africanus scores a nice knee to the body.

Africanus has Vass pressed against the cage, preventing Vass from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Africanus landing knees to the head.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Africanus working Vass over with knees to the body.

Africanus pulls guard. Vass trying to control the position from guard on top but Africanus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vass has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Vass missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Africanus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Africanus wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Vass trying to control but Africanus is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nick Vass wasn't doing enough on the ground. Africanus tries to keep at a distance but Vass has taken the fight into the clinch. Vass has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Vass gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Vass trying to control the position from guard on top but Africanus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vass wanted to stand there but Africanus had control of the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Africanus controls Vass momentarily but Vass frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Julius Africanus dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nick Vass's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Africanus defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Vass. Africanus tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vass was well out of range. Poor timing from Africanus. Vass takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Vass tries for a takedown but Africanus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Africanus connects with an inside leg kick. Africanus shoots in and bounces Vass off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Vass is trying to control the position but Africanus postures up. Africanus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vass has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Africanus has managed to get both his arms back between Vass's legs - danger averted. Africanus landing some decent shots from guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Africanus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Vass wriggles free and stands up. Vass moves into range and clinches up with Africanus. Africanus lands a knee to the head.

Africanus gets a trip takedown into half guard. Africanus sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Vass defending well though. Africanus tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vass knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Africanus lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. This has been an exciting period of action! Africanus moves into full mount! Vass won't be happy about that! Africanus with a couple of short strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Africanus looking to finish Vass with some ground and pound. This is bad for Vass! A nice elbow there by Africanus. Africanus with shots to the head and body - Vass looks very uncomfortable down there. Africanus lands a big elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vass working to try and regain half guard.
Africanus raining down hammerfists from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Africanus has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Vass's face.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Africanus lands a big elbow. Oh Vass is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Julius Africanus has got the better of the ground game so far. Africanus connects with a bit shot that sees Vass covering up! More strikes from Africanus and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Africanus is our winner by TKO!
