Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rushden misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Smith with a hook.
It looks like Max Rushden has been cut.
Scott Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rushden closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.
Smith lands a leg kick that knocks Rushden off balance momentarily.
Rushden shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Rushden. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith tries to clinch up but Rushden circles away and keeps his distance.

Smith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rushden is one step ahead there.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Scott Smith.
Smith drops Rushden with a beautiful combination! Rushden stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Smith is looking for the KO!
Rushden is rocked!
Smith stuffs the takedown attempt from Rushden. Rushden gets slowly back to his feet.
Oh Rushden is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Smith has cracked Rushden with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Smith lands another huge swinging hook and Rushden tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Rushden, before Smith can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Scott Smith!
