Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Grudge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vitor Belfort! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Grudge! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belfort tries to bum rush Grudge with a series of wild strikes but Grudge uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Belfort will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Belfort avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Grudge counters by clinching up. Grudge lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Vitor Belfort has been cut. Grudge can't get the takedown.
Belfort working hard to break the clinch. Grudge is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Belfort tries to circle away but Grudge has him pinned against the cage. Grudge breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Belfort moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Grudge shoots in for a takedown but Belfort shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Belfort misses with a two punch combination.
Belfort does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Grudge with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Belfort to score with a decent uppercut. Grudge shoots in and bounces Belfort off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Grudge must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grudge wants to pass the guard but Belfort is keeping the position. Belfort wants to stand up but Grudge is controlling him. Grudge not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Grudge trying to control but Belfort is working from the bottom. Grudge controlling from the top position.

Grudge seems to have recovered his senses. Belfort throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Grudge counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Belfort's guard now. Grudge sitting in guard here, content to control. Belfort wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Grudge manages to pass to side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grudge passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Belfort!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grudge takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. It looks like Grudge might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Belfort is trying to stand up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Grudge controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Vitor Belfort will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Vitor Belfort's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Grudge slips a nice elbow through Belfort's hands, connecting with Belfort's forehead. Belfort has one foot on Grudge's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Belfort will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Grudge counters with a nice double leg into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Grudge trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Grudge slips nicely into half guard.

He's almost out here... but no, Grudge gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Belfort on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Belfort is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Grudge asserts his dominance and retains side control. Belfort is letting Grudge control him for a moment. Belfort is trying to buck Grudge off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grudge controls the position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Belfort is pushing Grudge's head away, looking to escape. Grudge manages to hold on to the position though. Grudge controls the position from side control.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Johnny Grudge. Grudge rushes Belfort and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Grudge tries to pull guard but Belfort holds him up against the cage and eventually Grudge drops back down to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Grudge seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Grudge looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Grudge showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Vitor Belfort's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Grudge's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Grudge won't allow Belfort to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Johnny Grudge was stalling too much, according to the referee. Good work by Grudge as he checks the leg kick. Grudge shoots in for a double leg but Belfort sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Belfort throws a right and a left that both miss. Belfort looks to throw the jab but Grudge is out of range. Grudge lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Belfort misses with a double jab
so Grudge counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Belfort is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Grudge stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Belfort swivels though and keeps the full guard. Belfort wants to stand and escape but Grudge is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grudge trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Belfort is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Belfort is working an open guard so Grudge takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Some wild striking there from Belfort.

Belfort is trying to get back to his feet but Grudge has full control of the position and if anything, Belfort has just worked his way into a worse spot. Grudge is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Belfort wants to get back to his feet. Grudge is working the ground and pound. Can Belfort escape?
And that's the end of the fight! Johnny Grudge comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Grudge has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
