Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aleksander Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes to the cage accompanied by Dale Oliver - Not A Stranger To (The) Danger. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Doe! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doe thows a body shot but no joy. Emelianenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Doe moves away. Emelianenko misses with a combination
and Doe counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Emelianenko avoids the body shot from Doe.
Doe wants to clinch and Emelianenko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Emelianenko throws a shot to the body.
Emelianenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Doe.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doe throws a hook but Emelianenko avoids it easily. Doe throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Emelianenko counters with a straight punch to the midsection. A looping hook to the body misses from Doe. Emelianenko does a little dance to reset his feet. Emelianenko misses with a double jab.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Doe wants to clinch but Emelianenko slips to the side and Emelianenko makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Doe tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Emelianenko is able to avoid easily. Emelianenko throws a left and a right that both miss
and Doe holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

and Emelianenko counters with a lovely shot to the body. Emelianenko swinging wildly here.
Emelianenko is looking to wear down Doe with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Doe throws a shot from downtown. Emelianenko moves away and avoids it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Doe tries to clinch up but Emelianenko circles away and keeps his distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Aleksander Emelianenko will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fight stays on the outside here - Doe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

John Doe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Emelianenko moves out of range of the strikes.

Doe looks to land a right hand but Emelianenko moved out of range. Doe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Emelianenko paws at him with a jab and circles away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Emelianenko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Doe moves into the clinch. Doe misses with a short punch on the inside. Emelianenko is trying to force a seperation but Doe has the dominant position. Emelianenko is trying to push Doe away but Doe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko tries to circle away but Doe has him pinned against the cage. Doe misses with an elbow over the top. Emelianenko wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Doe keeps control of Emelianenko as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Emelianenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Doe tries to clinch but Emelianenko moves out of range. Emelianenko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Doe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A right-left combo lands from Emelianenko.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko works Doe's body with a nice hook. Doe has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Doe there as he acknowledges the shot. Doe lands a nice leg kick that just misses Emelianenko's sensitive parts. Emelianenko ducks under a wild hook from Doe. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Doe looks to land a right hand but Emelianenko moved out of range. Emelianenko circles away from the clinch attempt.

Doe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Emelianenko paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sloppy strikes from Emelianenko. Those never looked like landing. Emelianenko uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Doe. Emelianenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Doe circles away quickly and effectively. Doe throws a series of punches but Emelianenko moves out of range. Emelianenko throws a looping overhand right but Doe ducks down to avoid it. John Doe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
