Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gray Pleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Simms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Wes Simms enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simms throws a looping overhand right but Pleman ducks down to avoid it.
Simms throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Simms misses with a body kick.
Simms misses with the combination.
Simms throws a head kick but Pleman moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Simms misses with an uppercut
and Pleman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Simms's guard now.

Pleman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Pleman forces his way into half guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Gray Pleman wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Pleman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Simms sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Pleman misses the jab.
The fighters circling - Simms throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Simms misses with a hook. Pleman ducked under it nicely.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pleman is defended easily by Simms.
Pleman fails to land the takedown.
Pleman blocks the body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gray Pleman dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Simms ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pleman moves away.
Pleman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Simms was covering up waiting for the punch and Pleman finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Pleman content to stall in guard here.

Pleman won't allow Simms to get back to his feet.
Pleman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pleman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Simms circles away.

Pleman shoots in looking for a takedown. Simms tries to sprawl out of it but Pleman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Simms manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gray Pleman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pleman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Simms tries to avoid it but Pleman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Simms to the ground. Simms escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Simms fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pleman manages to avoid it.
Pleman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Simms is fending him off so far but Pleman persists. Nope, Simms circles away and we're back to standing.
Wes Simms seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pleman avoids a kick to the body.
Simms throws a body punch but Pleman moves out of range.
Pleman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pleman shoots in looking for a takedown but Simms manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pleman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gray Pleman dominated that second round.

and Simms counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Pleman is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Simms throws a low kick but Pleman avoids it.
Simms finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Pleman shoots for a double leg takedown but Simms sprawls well. He's pushed Pleman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Simms counters with a thumping low kick.

Simms tries to bum rush Pleman with a series of wild strikes but Pleman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pleman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Simms avoids it really well and circles away.
Wes Simms is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Simms connects with a leg kick. Pleman looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pleman shoots in for a takedown but Simms shows good takedown defense.
Simms will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Pleman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Simms counters with a left to the body.

Simms misses with a low kick.
Pleman avoids the body shot from Simms.
Pleman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Simms swivels and escapes.
Gray Pleman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Simms throws a hook but Pleman blocks it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pleman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pleman showed some decent athleticism there.
Pleman performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Pleman passes to side control.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gray Pleman.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pleman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
