Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sero Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maek Houzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim's entrance music is CANON in D Korean Version (with gayageum) . A fine choice. Sero Kim has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Maek Houzo!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houzo wants to clinch up but Kim keeps it at a distance.
Kim fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Houzo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kim connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Houzo takes one to the side of the head.
Kim throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kim throws a hook but Houzo avoids it easily.
Kim connects with a right hand. Houzo shakes it off.
Kim is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Houzo.
Houzo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Houzo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Houzo scores with the left hand. Kim knows he should have avoided that one.
Houzo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kim paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kim throws a head kick but Houzo moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Houzo is defended easily by Kim.
Sero Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maek Houzo.
Kim plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Kim fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Kim looks to score with a jab to the body but Houzo is just out of range.

Kim gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kim has momentary wrist control but Houzo slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kim tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Houzo postures up in Kim's guard and throws a big left but Kim blocks it.

Kim controls Houzo momentarily but Houzo frees himself.

Houzo misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Houzo tries to advance to mount but can't.
Houzo wants to control but Kim is keeping him busy.
Kim is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kim prevents Houzo from improving position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Houzo trying to control the action but Kim is working from the bottom.
Houzo is putting a hurting on Kim here, landing some big shots from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Maek Houzo will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kim goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Houzo throws a right hand that Kim ducks under and follows up with a left that Kim also avoids with ease.
Kim avoids the body shot from Houzo.
Houzo misses the shot to the body.
Houzo drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kim is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Houzo is looking to work some ground and pound but Kim has wrist control.
Kim is trying to control the position but Houzo postures up.
Houzo looking to pass the guard.
Kim wants to sweep here but Houzo controlling him for the moment.

Houzo trying to control the position from guard on top but Kim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Houzo works over Kim with some ground and pound from guard.
Kim can't keep his opponent in guard - Houzo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Houzo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Houzo looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Kim wants to improve his position but Houzo is controlling well.
Kim is working hard here to advance position.
Kim has hold of Houzo's hands but Houzo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kim won't allow Houzo to pass to mount.
Houzo uses his free foot to push down on Kim's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kim.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Houzo lands a big shot there that rocks Kim but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
A nice elbow there by Houzo.
Kim tries to lock up and control but Houzo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kim is bucking up trying to escape but Houzo cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Houzo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
It looks like Sero Kim has been cut.
Houzo lands a heavy elbow.
Kim is rocked!
Kim is looking to get to half guard.
Houzo looking to control and managing it successfully.
Houzo avoids the attempt from Kim to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Houzo raining down shots from the mount!
Kim wants to control but Houzo is having none of it.
Houzo scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Kim?

Sero Kim's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oooh a big shot lands for Houzo! Kim is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
