Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Benton Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshihiro Takaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Styles comes to the cage accompanied by Rocky Remix. Takaya comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Jimi Hendrix - All along the Watchtower kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Benton Styles could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Yoshihiro Takaya's chin.

15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yoshihiro Takaya! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Styles throws a leg kick which misses Takaya's front leg but catches the back leg as Takaya tries to avoid it. Nice body punch from Styles. Styles throws a head kick that half lands.
Takaya tries to close the distance and clinch but Styles swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Takaya scores with a jab to the head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Takaya. Styles ducks under a wild hook from Takaya. Styles tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Styles feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Takaya's calf. A big left from Takaya misses. Takaya checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. A looping hook to the body misses from Takaya. Styles does a little dance to reset his feet.

Styles throws a jab but it's blocked by Takaya. Benton Styles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Styles scores with a crisp jab that stopped Takaya in his tracks.

Styles manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Styles lands with a slapping head kick. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Takaya throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Styles listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Takaya moves out of range as Styles strikes. Takaya scores with a one two! Styles had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Styles stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Styles wants it to stay on the feet. Takaya throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Styles stops Takaya from passing to mount.

Takaya throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Takaya has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Takaya throws an elbow but Styles slips to the side and avoids it well. Takaya creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Styles sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Yoshihiro Takaya has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Styles tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Well, with Takaya on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Styles is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
