Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Orlando Cardigan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Willy Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sanchez.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sanchez.
Cardigan lands with a right hand.
Cardigan fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sanchez.
Sanchez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cardigan misses with a head kick.
Orlando Cardigan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cardigan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Cardigan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Cardigan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Orlando Cardigan just wasn't active enough.
Cardigan tries to close the distance and clinch but Sanchez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sanchez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt - Cardigan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

No joy there for Cardigan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sanchez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sanchez there as he acknowledges the shot.

Cardigan shoots in and bounces Sanchez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Orlando Cardigan.

Sanchez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Cardigan lands a leg kick that knocks Sanchez off balance momentarily.
Cardigan is looking to clinch but Sanchez is avoiding it.
Cardigan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Cardigan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sanchez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cardigan throws a leg kick which misses Sanchez's front leg but catches the back leg as Sanchez tries to avoid it.
Sanchez tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Cardigan tries to clinch up but Sanchez circles away and keeps his distance.
Sanchez is trying desperately to land a takedown but Cardigan is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Sanchez.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Orlando Cardigan dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Cardigan throws a nice outside leg kick.
Cardigan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sanchez was well out of range. Poor timing from Cardigan.
Cardigan dives in and scores a takedown into Sanchez's guard.
Sanchez looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cardigan has picked Sanchez up and slammed him! Sanchez can't keep hold of the triangle and Cardigan manages to pass to side control!

Sanchez seems a little lost for a moment, as Cardigan dominates the positioning.

Cardigan has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Sanchez is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Cardigan yanks on the arm and Sanchez is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Cardigan.
