Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Kaplan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitriy Kozoriz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Kaplan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dmitriy Kozoriz!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaplan with a poor takedown

and Kozoriz counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kaplan tries to roll over but Kozoriz keeps him under control.
Kaplan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kozoriz on the ground.
Kaplan is not content to let Kozoriz control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kozoriz in particular looking to stall.
Kozoriz is looking to take a break and control but Kaplan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kaplan won't allow Kozoriz to pass to mount.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dmitriy Kozoriz was stalling too much, according to the referee.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kozoriz's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kaplan walks into a stiff left hand from Kozoriz.

Kozoriz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kaplan is trying to defend but Kozoriz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Kozoriz gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Kozoriz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Kozoriz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kozoriz wriggles free and stands up.

Kozoriz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kozoriz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Kaplan leaves Kozoriz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kozoriz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dmitriy Kozoriz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kozoriz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kaplan avoids it really well and circles away.

so Kozoriz counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kozoriz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kaplan's guard.

Kozoriz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kaplan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kozoriz wants to stand but Kaplan has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Kaplan is staying active underneath Kozoriz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kozoriz seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dmitriy Kozoriz hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Kozoriz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kaplan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kozoriz is in Kaplan's guard.

Kaplan is working an open guard so Kozoriz takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Kozoriz has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kozoriz throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Kaplan blocks it with crossed arms.

Kozoriz pulls Kaplan in close to his closed guard and prevents Kaplan from doing any damage or advancing position.

Kozoriz pushes Kaplan off and gets back to his feet.

Kozoriz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Kaplan's face as Kozoriz controls the position.
Kozoriz gets to mount! Kaplan was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Kozoriz trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Kozoriz is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Kaplan is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Kaplan flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kozoriz anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Kaplan and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kozoriz slips an arm under Kaplan chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kozoriz has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kozoriz is squeezing on Kaplan like an anaconda would it's prey. Kaplan fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dmitriy Kozoriz!
