Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguelangel Jiminez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevenson has Jiminez up against the cage in a clinch.
Stevenson prevents the takedown attempt.
Stevenson blocking some punches.

Jiminez successfully pulls guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Stevenson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jiminez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Jiminez scrambles and gets back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jiminez.
Stevenson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jiminez swinging wildly here.

Jiminez closes the distance and clinches.
Stevenson stops a takedown attempt from Jiminez.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miguelangel Jiminez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stevenson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stevenson shoots in but Jiminez avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jiminez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stevenson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jiminez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Stevenson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jiminez did well to prevent Stevenson getting side control.
Stevenson is looking to advance position but Jiminez won't allow it.
Jiminez pushes Stevenson off looking to stand but Stevenson dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jiminez is staying active underneath Stevenson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Stevenson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Jiminez wants to get back to his feet.
Jiminez on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Stevenson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Stevenson stops Jiminez from getting back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Stevenson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jiminez is breathing heavily.
Stevenson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jiminez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Stevenson lands with a punch from half guard.
Stevenson controlling the action here.
Jiminez wants to get back to his feet.
Stevenson drops an elbow to the side of Jiminez's head.
Stevenson throwing shots but Jiminez is blocking nicely.
Stevenson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.


Jiminez is rocked!
Stevenson lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Jiminez quite badly. Jiminez pulls Stevenson in close trying to recover. Stevenson postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Jiminez on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Jiminez doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Phil Stevenson!
