Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Vinici! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank De Guzman! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vinici gets a takedown into half guard. De Guzman is looking to control Vinici's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can De Guzman avoid being mounted? De Guzman is pressing down on Vinici's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Vinici won't allow De Guzman to get back to his feet. Vinici wants to stand but De Guzman has a closed guard, so he can't escape. De Guzman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Vinici knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for De Guzman on the ground. De Guzman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vinici does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Vinici makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
That's one minute gone in the round. De Guzman tries for a takedown but Vinici sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. De Guzman should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Vinici shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts De Guzman as he jumps to the side. De Guzman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Vinici counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for De Guzman! Vinici landing strikes from the mount.
It looks like Frank De Guzman has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Vinici unloading with bombs! De Guzman looks gassed! Vinici working the ground and pound effectively.

Vinici lands a big elbow. De Guzman takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vinici in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Vinici is in the full mount, landing strikes. Vinici lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Vinici pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
De Guzman is rocked! Vinici is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but De Guzman is surviving well by controlling Vinici's body position as best he can. De Guzman is still in real trouble! Can Vinici finish him? Vinici looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has De Guzman covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
