The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipovic throws a jab but it's blocked by Escuela.
Filipovic ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Escuela moves away.
Filipovic misses with a wild body shot.
Filipovic throws a front kick aimed at Escuela's knee but Escuela avoids it well.
Escuela fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Filipovic avoids it really well and circles away.
Filipovic pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Escuela keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Escuela lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Filipovic clinches up with Escuela and pushes him back against the cage.

Escuela gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Filipovic wants to control but Escuela is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Filipovic gets back to full guard.
Escuela in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Escuela postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Filipovic is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are battling for position here. Escuela manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Filipovic got a little sloppy there for a moment and Escuela has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Filipovic has managed to get both his arms back between Escuela's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Escuela has his foot on Filipovic's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Filipovic works his way back into a safe position though.

Filipovic will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Escuela wants to improve his position but Filipovic is controlling well.
Escuela is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Filipovic's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Filipovic's back!
