Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Kalir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Glennon! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kalir throws a nice looking combination but Glennon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Glennon takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Kalir cracks Glennon with an uppercut from hell and Glennon crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Kalir's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Glennon is rocked! Kalir drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Glennon dives on top into guard. Glennon is still in real trouble! Can Kalir finish him? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kalir can't keep his opponent in guard - Glennon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Glennon is thwarting Kalir's attempts to control the position. Glennon seems to have recovered his senses. Kalir is positioning himself well to prevent Glennon advancing to mount. Kalir is trying to control but can't.
Kalir won't allow Glennon to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Glennon prevents Kalir from improving his position. Kalir is trying to maintain the position but Glennon is very close to passing his half guard.
George Kalir has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Kalir lands a big shot that drops Glennon! Can he finish him?
Kalir looking to sit in guard and control but Glennon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kalir trying to control the position.
Kalir pulls Glennon in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Glennon is sitting in close to Kalir's body. Kalir has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Glennon is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Glennon is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Kalir.
