Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fenix Espada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Tribbett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fenix Espada has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fenix Espada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Tribbett!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Espada shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tribbett napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tribbett is looking to control Espada's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tribbett avoid being mounted?

Espada looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Tribbett is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Espada looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Espada slips a nice elbow through Tribbett's hands, connecting with Tribbett's forehead.

Tribbett throws a right and a left that both miss.

Espada has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Tribbett is trying to keep an underhook but Espada manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Espada is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tribbett can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Espada is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Tribbett has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Tribbett wants to hold on but Espada pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Espada gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tribbett can't break the clinch.
Espada throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Tribbetts head.

Tribbett has picked Espada up - he's going for a ride! Tribbett dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Tribbett avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Espada has Tribbett pulled in close to control his posture.
Tribbett takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tribbett pushes down on Espada's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Espada pushes Tribbett off looking to stand but Tribbett dives back in and keeps control.

Espada is looking for a sweep. Tribbett is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Espada is staying active underneath Tribbett, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Espada has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tribbett's face.

Espada has hold of Tribbett's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tribbett manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Espada postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tribbett looks a forlorn figure.

Espada wants to finish this one by submission but Tribbett is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Espada.
George Tribbett has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Espada has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
