Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shaunn Chen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wirm Kness!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kness tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Chen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kness fails with a takedown attempt.
Chen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kness fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kness doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Chen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Shaunn Chen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wirm Kness.
Chen lands with a nice body punch.
Kness slips a jab and a cross from Chen.
Kness tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kness shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chen defends it nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kness is defended easily by Chen.
Wirm Kness seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kness shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chen as he jumps to the side.
Chen lands with a nice body punch.
Kness looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kness on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Oooooh!!! Chen has knocked Kness down with a huge combo! Chen steps away and waves a wobbly Kness back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Kness is rocked!
Kness is trying desperately to land a takedown but Chen is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Kness.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chen connects with a superb combination that knocks Kness out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Chen before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Kness!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Shaunn Chen!
