Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richard Hosnia!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eddie Penn!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hosnia attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Penn dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hosnia. That did some damage!
Hosnia shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Penn as he avoids it easily.
Hosnia really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Penn counters with a single leg into guard. Hosnia didn't expect that.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Hosnia takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Penn shoots in looking for a takedown. Hosnia tries to sprawl out of it but Penn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hosnia manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A clash of legs there as Penn blocks the low kick.

Hosnia pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Penn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

I've got Penn winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
