Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eddie Wallis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rallis Gibson!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallis closes the distance and clinches up with Gibson, looking for a takedown. Wallis pushes Gibson against the cage but Gibson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Wallis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gibson trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gibson wants to get up but he can't break Wallis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gibson content to stall in guard here.
Wallis looking for a sweep. Not yet Wallis, not yet.
Wallis throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Gibson trying to control but Wallis is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rallis Gibson.

Gibson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Wallis gets back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wallis is looking to improve his position.

Gibson wants to take a breather but Wallis is having none of it.
Gibson seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Wallis has a hand on Gibson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Gibson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Gibson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gibson landing strikes from the mount and Wallis is in trouble!
Wallis is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gibson takes Wallis's back.
Gibson has the hooks in. Wallis is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Gibson is persistently looking for the submission but Wallis is defending it well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wallis is in bad spot here.
Wallis tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Gibson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Wallis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wallis is trying to reverse the position but instead Gibson has taken his back - oops!
Can Wallis hold on?! Gibson is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Gibson is trying to stick to Wallis's back but Wallis is turning into Gibson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gibson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Wallis.
Gibson pulls Wallis in close to prevent any damage.
Wallis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gibson is trying to control the position but Wallis postures up.

Wallis tries to free his leg and advance position but Gibson is retaining full guard.
Wallis advances position into side control!
Gibson wants to control but Wallis postures up.

Wallis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
You can see the frustration on Gibson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gibson regains half guard.

Wallis is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Gibson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Wallis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gibson defending well though.
Wallis has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Wallis working for a guillotine from mount but Gibson is in no mood to give up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Wallis is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Wallis!
