Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Matrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for John Matrix has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Matrix! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Turner! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turner on the wrong end of a nice jab. Matrix throws out a powerful jab. Matrix swings widly with a right hand
and Turner counters with a single leg into guard. Matrix didn't expect that. Turner thows a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Matrix has control of Turner's left arm, preventing Turner from doing any damage. Matrix preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Turner looking to sit in guard and control but Matrix gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Matrix trying to control but Turner is working from the bottom. Turner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Turner can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner keeping moving, preventing Matrix from controlling successfully. Matrix showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Turner moves away from the strike by Matrix. Matrix just misses with a punch to the body.
Matrix sends Turner crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Matrix is motioning to the referee to let Turner up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
It looks like Jack Turner has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Turner misses with a series of wild punches.
Turner moves in looking to clinch but Matrix pushes him off. Matrix throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

It looks like John Matrix has been cut. Turner misses with a few strikes there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turner pushes Matrix up against the cage in a clinch. Matrix can't find room to land a body shot as Turner controls the action.
Matrix breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A looping hook to the body misses from Turner. Matrix does a little dance to reset his feet. Matrix is looking to clinch but Turner is avoiding it.

Matrix is looking to clinch. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Turner has eaten all the pies! Matrix misses with a lunging right hand
and Turner lands a stunning uppercut that sends Matrix to the mat! Matrix is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Matrix is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Matrix is trying to maintain the position but Turner is very close to passing his half guard. Turner takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Turner sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Matrix defending well though. Matrix blocking the ground and pound attempt from Turner. Turner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Matrix's head. Matrix moves into full guard.
Turner trying to control the position from guard on top but Matrix is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Turner landing some decent shots from guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Turner works over Matrix with some ground and pound from guard. Matrix is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jack Turner will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Matrix pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matrix displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Turner throws out the jab. Turner doesn't manage to clinch there - Matrix circles away.

and Matrix counters with a straight punch to the midsection. John Matrix is winning the standup battle so far. Matrix misses with a hook
and Turner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Matrix thinking. Matrix throws a hook to the side of Turner's head but Turner sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Turner fails in his attempt to clinch. Turner throws a nice looking combination but Matrix bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Matrix throws out a loose jab but Turner uses good head movement to avoid it. Matrix misses with a body shot.
Matrix misses the shot to the body. Turner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Jab from Matrix.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matrix swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Matrix dodges the punch combination from Turner.
Matrix fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Turner manages to avoid it. Matrix throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Turner. A punch combination from Turner misses. Turner swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Matrix makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Turner is breathing heavily. Matrix fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Turner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Turner walks into a jab. Turner takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Matrix moves in looking to clinch but Turner pushes him off. Matrix rushes Turner and presses him up against the cage. Matrix presses Turner against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Turner has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Matrix is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. A hook to the body from Matrix.
Matrix lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Matrix wants to break free but Turner has control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Turner tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Matrix's elbow. Matrix is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Matrix fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

A short body shot lands from Matrix as the two fighters clinch.
Matrix taking a breather. Turner takes a shot to the head. Turner softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Turner makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A battle for position here, against the cage. Turner changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Matrix fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Matrix stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Matrix fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Matrix scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matrix misses with a straight left. Matrix scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Turner moves out of range of the body kick from Matrix.
Turner walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Turner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Matrix moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Matrix connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Turner! He's out on his feet! Matrix rushes in and drops Turner with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). John Matrix!
