Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ubereem Aplestair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rego Ortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ubereem Aplestair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rego Ortez!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortez feints a jab promting Aplestair to slip. Ortez then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Aplestair slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Horrible takedown by Aplestair or perhaps it was just good defense by Ortez which made him look bad.
Ortez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Aplestair closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ortez to the mat! Ortez manages to get full guard.
Aplestair postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ortez is trying to control the position but Aplestair postures up.
Aplestair is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Aplestair enables Ortez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aplestair manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ortez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rego Ortez hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Aplestair has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Aplestair there as he acknowledges the shot.
Ortez wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Aplestair shoots for a double leg takedown but Ortez sprawls well. He's pushed Aplestair's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Aplestair walks into a jab.
Aplestair tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Ortez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Aplestair shoots in but Ortez avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Ortez throws a combination. Aplestair tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

and Ortez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Aplestair!
Aplestair sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Aplestair throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ortez was covering up waiting for the punch and Aplestair finishes the takedown easily into guard.

No joy there for Ortez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Aplestair is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ortez asserts his dominance and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Aplestair's face as Ortez controls the position.

Aplestair looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Well Ortez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
