The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Tabris counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tabris.
Tabris avoiding damage.
Velasquez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Velasquez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tabris pulls his leg out and moves away.

Tabris manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Velasquez on his heels. He'll look to pass Velasquez's guard now, I'm sure.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Velasquez dodges the ground and pound from Tabris.
You can see the frustration on Velasquez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Velasquez is not content to let Tabris control the position.

Velasquez is looking to regain half guard here but Tabris keeps moving and retains side control.

Tabris is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Velasquez is trying to escape and Tabris transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Velasquez is forced to tap! Nice work there by Tabris! Very nice indeed!
