Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ralph Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Sobral!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Diaz stuffs the takedown attempt from Sobral. Sobral gets slowly back to his feet.

Diaz lands a head kick that stumbles Sobral and the fighters go to the mat.


It looks like Renato Sobral has been cut.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Sobral looking for a sweep. Not yet Sobral, not yet.

Sobral looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diaz wants to stand but Sobral is controlling his posture from full guard.

Sobral is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sobral escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Diaz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sobral throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Diaz tries to stand but Sobral is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sobral is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sobral is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Diaz is aware though and is defending well.
Diaz wants to stand but Sobral has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Sobral isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Diaz stacks Sobral on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Diaz!
Sobral sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sobral tries to roll over but Diaz keeps him under control.

Sobral actively working from the bottom here.
It looks like Diaz is going to stand back up.
Sobral is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Diaz jumps into side control!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sobral is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Diaz decides to stand back up. Diaz steps back and let's Sobral get back to his feet.
Sobral steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Diaz. That one must have hurt.
Diaz lands a head kick. Sobral smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sobral has his takedown stuffed
and Diaz counters with an inside leg kick.
Sobral looks gassed!
Diaz pushes Sobral away with a front kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Diaz and Sobral goes tumbling to the canvas! Diaz follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


Sobral is rocked!


That has opened up Renato Sobral's cut even more.
Sobral is trying to get back to full guard.
Sobral is still in real trouble! Can Diaz finish him?
Diaz tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Sobral.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ralph Diaz dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Renato Sobral's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Diaz throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Sobral seems to have recovered his senses.
Nice takedown defense from Sobral. No joy for Diaz on that attempt.
Renato Sobral is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Diaz lands a body shot.
Diaz throws a right hand that Sobral ducks under and follows up with a left that Sobral also avoids with ease.
Diaz connects with a body shot that sends Sobral's belly button to the back.
Sobral fails with the takedown.
Sobral shoots for a double leg takedown but Diaz sprawls well. He's pushed Sobral's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Diaz throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sobral on the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Diaz.
Sobral is breathing heavily.
Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sobral takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ralph Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Diaz clinches up with Sobral and pushes him back against the cage.

Diaz breaks the clinch.
Diaz connects with a right that clearly hurt Sobral. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Diaz proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Sobral collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ralph Diaz!
