Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Habib Al Tawil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jacinto Koutras!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koutras gets a double leg takedown into Al Tawil's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Al Tawil pulls Koutras in to control the position.
Koutras pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Al Tawil is keeping the position for now.
Koutras should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Koutras trying to control but Al Tawil is working from the bottom.
Koutras is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Al Tawil has a closed guard, preventing Koutras from standing up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jacinto Koutras hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Al Tawil tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Koutras has control of Al Tawil's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Al Tawil regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Koutras trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Koutras goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Al Tawil turns into him and now he's in Koutras's guard.
Koutras controls Al Tawil momentarily but Al Tawil frees himself.
Koutras pulls Al Tawil in close to prevent any damage.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jacinto Koutras wasn't active enough on the ground.
Koutras tries to land a front kick but Al Tawil steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Koutras connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Koutras takes the fight into the clinch.
Al Tawil is trying to break the clinch but Koutras is controlling him.
Al Tawil breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A head kick misses from Al Tawil.

Koutras misses with an attempted mid kick.
Koutras changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Al Tawil looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Koutras tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Koutras decides to stand up, so the ref orders Al Tawil to his feet.
Al Tawil is breathing heavily.
Al Tawil tries to sprawl but Koutras drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Koutras is pressing down on Al Tawil's thigh, looking to free his foot. Al Tawil is holding on for now.
Koutras passes to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Al Tawil enables Koutras to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Al Tawil manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Al Tawil will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Koutras is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jacinto Koutras.
Al Tawil stuffs the takedown.
Koutras closes the distance and clinches.
Al Tawil misses with an elbow strike.

A frustrated look appears on Al Tawil's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Al Tawil's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jacinto Koutras seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koutras takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Al Tawil tries a head kick but it misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Koutras closes the distance and pushes Al Tawil back into the cage.
Al Tawil breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Koutras punishes Al Tawil's body with a nice straight punch.
Al Tawil checks a leg kick nicely.
Koutras darts in and clinches Al Tawil up against the cage.

Koutras has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Al Tawil is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Al Tawil wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Koutras has him pressed against the cage.
Al Tawil pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Koutras clinches.
With the fighters up against the cage, Al Tawil throws an elbow but misses.
Al Tawil escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Al Tawil.
Koutras scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Al Tawil on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Al Tawil tries to get out of the position.

Koutras is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Al Tawil is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Koutras working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Jacinto Koutras showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Al Tawil's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Koutras goes for a takedown in the clinch but Al Tawil prevents it.
Al Tawil lands an elbow inside.
Jacinto Koutras is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
It looks like Jacinto Koutras has been cut.
Al Tawil pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Koutras shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Let's hope that Koutras has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
