Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hajime Susumu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez comes to the cage accompanied by Juno Reactor - Pistolero. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Susumu.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mendez pushes Susumu away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Susumu gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Susumu tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Susumu throws an elbow but Mendez slips to the side and avoids it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hajime Susumu dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Susumu throws out a loose jab but Mendez uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mendez leaves Susumu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Susumu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Susumu. Mendez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Susumu closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mendez's guard.

Mendez wants to get back to his feet but Susumu is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Susumu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mendez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mendez pushes Susumu off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Susumu wants to slow Mendez down by chopping away at his legs.
Susumu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mendez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

letting Mendez counter with a right hand.

Enrique Mendez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hajime Susumu.

Susumu throws a hook to the side of Mendez's head but Mendez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Mendez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Susumu thinking.

Mendez stuns Susumu with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

and Mendez counters with a three punch combo that has Susumu backing up. Susumu nods at Mendez to acknowledge the strikes.
Mendez misses with a hook. Susumu ducked under it nicely.

Susumu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mendez lands with a shot to the body.
Some wild striking there from Mendez.
Susumu shoots in and drives through. Mendez sprawls well.
Mendez shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Susumu eats them both and turns towards Mendez to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Susumu fails with an attempt to clinch.
Susumu throws a jab but it's blocked by Mendez.
Nice uppercut lands for Mendez. That snapped Susumu's head back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hajime Susumu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Susumu avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mendez swings for the body but Susumu moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Good leg kick by Susumu there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Enrique Mendez will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Mendez throws a one two combo.
Mendez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Susumu manages to avoid it.
Mendez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Susumu blocks a jab.
Susumu looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Susumu lands a leg kick that knocks Mendez off balance momentarily.
Mendez stuffs the takedown.
Susumu takes a swing at Mendez's ribcage but misses.
Susumu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Susumu moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Susumu pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mendez is out of range and Susumu settles back down.
Mendez scores with the left hand. Susumu knows he should have avoided that one.

Susumu is rocked!
Mendez lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Susumu falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
