PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kapakapa Lukapa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes into the arena with Walkie Talkie - DJ Shadow blaring out of the sound system. Lukapa is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Butsekek. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Kapakapa Lukapa enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kapakapa Lukapa!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lukapa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Carter is looking to take a break and control but Lukapa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lukapa tries to buck Carter off but Carter is having none of it.
Lukapa gets back to half guard.
Carter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lukapa keeps working.

Carter content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carter thows a huge punch but Lukapa dodges it nicely.
Carter wants to take a breather but Lukapa is having none of it.

Carter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Carter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Lukapa is staying active underneath Carter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lukapa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carter pulls his head out easily.

Lukapa has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Carter escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Carter!
Carter in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Carter just content to control the position.

Lukapa takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Lukapa tries to improve position but can't.
Carter passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Lukapa!

Carter looking to control and managing it successfully.
Lukapa is desperately trying to improve his position but Carter has a good base and remains in mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lukapa is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Carter dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Carter tries to land a front kick but Lukapa steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Carter fails with the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lukapa.

Lukapa gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Carter counters with an inside leg kick.
Lukapa blocks a low kick nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Carter goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lukapa takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Carter scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Lukapa drops his hands momentarily and Carter takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


It looks like Kapakapa Lukapa has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lukapa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carter swivels and escapes.
Andrew Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kapakapa Lukapa.
Lukapa has his takedown stuffed
and Carter counters with a massive head kick! KABOOM! Lukapa is out cold! A devastating KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Andrew Carter!
