Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Queiroz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Torres!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Queiroz counters with an outside leg kick.
Torres looks gassed!
Torres slips a jab from Queiroz.
Queiroz connects with the punch.
Torres takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Queiroz dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Torres. That did some damage!
Torres tries to clinch
and Queiroz counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Queiroz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Queiroz lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Torres takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Queiroz drops Torres with a nice combination! Queiroz dives into Torres's guard, looking to finish!
Torres is rocked!
It looks like Rafael Torres has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Queiroz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Torres, up you get!
Torres is still on wobbly legs! Can Queiroz finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Queiroz fails to land with a series of punches.
Torres seems to have recovered his senses.
Torres seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Queiroz shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Torres is backing up but Queiroz catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Torres covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Queiroz Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andre Queiroz!
