Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Grant! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Grant with that takedown attempt. Grant throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Grant off to one side. Grant is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Grant shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mark Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Grant. Jones closes the distance and clinches. Grant tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Jones darts in and clinches Grant up against the cage. Jones misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Grant.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mark Jones. Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet. Jones pushes Grant up against the cage in a clinch. Grant blocks an elbow strike. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jones takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee is keeping an eye on Jones - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Paul Grant has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Grant decides to pull guard. Grant doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
