Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Beneegno Akino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derreck Haven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haven has chosen Party Rock as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akino gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Haven counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Haven showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Akino utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Akino working for submissions but it's allowed Haven to get to half guard.
Haven looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Haven thows a huge punch but Akino dodges it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akino wants to control but Haven is keeping busy and won't allow it. Haven is just content to waste time from the top position. Akino takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Akino trying to keep a closed guard but Haven is proving a slippery customer.
Haven sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Akino tries to land a sweep but no joy. Haven is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Akino is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Haven is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Akino not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Haven throws a head kick but Akino moves out of range.
Haven bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Akino takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Akino is trying to get back to half guard. Haven is looking to take a break and control but Akino is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Akino is looking to reverse the position. Haven trying to control the position but Akino is working away. Akino wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Akino can't do much from the bottom here. Haven is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Akino has escaped the position, nice work there. Akino tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Haven wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Haven working the ground and pound from side control. Akino dodges the ground and pound from Haven. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derreck Haven dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Haven shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Haven winds up and cracks Akino with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Haven is thwarting Akino's attempts to control the position. Haven uses his free foot to push down on Akino's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Akino. Haven is in the full mount, landing strikes. Akino is looking to get to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akino is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Haven moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Akino has worked his arm free - good work by Akino!
Akino can't do much from the bottom here. Haven is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Akino knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Haven wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Akino, who protects the arm well.

Akino is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Haven's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Haven's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Haven trying to control the hands but Akino won't let him. Akino misses with an elbow to the head. Akino looking to hold on to the position here but Haven rolls and ends up regaining guard.

Akino looking to pass the guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Haven is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Akino trying to control but Haven is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derreck Haven showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Haven lands a big elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Haven trying to control but he's not successful this time. Haven has hold of Akino's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Akino manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Akino is desperately trying to improve his position but Haven has a good base and remains in mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haven jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Akino is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Akino and Haven has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
A lull in the action here. Akino can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Akino sneaks back into half guard. Haven is looking for a kimura but Akino is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Haven to get the leverage. Haven takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Akino keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Haven wants to pass to mount but Akino is defending the position. Haven takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Akino works his way to full guard. Good work. Akino looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haven postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Derreck Haven has got the better of the ground game so far. Haven stands up from Akino's guard - Haven perhaps looking for a knockout. Akino throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Akino with a lazy takedown attempt and Haven counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Akino is trying to maintain the position but Haven is very close to passing his half guard. Haven is taking a breather. Akino says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Akino is trying to stand up here but Haven is controlling him well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akino has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Haven is working away from the top position though. Akino tries to roll over but Haven keeps him under control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Haven shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Haven was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Akino really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! Derreck Haven comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Haven has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
