Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Fitzroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joseph Fitzroy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Santos! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos has his takedown stuffed and Fitzroy holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Fitzroy has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Santos clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Fitzroy struggling to land strikes to the head as Santos covers up. Fitzroy throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Santos turns into Fitzroy and is now in his guard.
Fitzroy pushes Santos off and scrambles back to his feet.
Santos fails with the takedown and Fitzroy counters into the clinch. Nicely done. A nice glancing elbow lands by Fitzroy. Fitzroy prevents a takedown attempt there.
Joseph Fitzroy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Santos. Fitzroy lands an elbow inside. A knee to the head by Fitzroy.
It looks like Antonio Santos has been cut. Fitzroy landing knees to the head.

Fitzroy pulls Santos into guard.
Santos wants to control from the top but Fitzroy keeps moving. Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fitzroy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fitzroy pushes Santos off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Fitzroy gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Fitzroy is stalling here.

Fitzroy is breathing heavily. Santos can't get the takedown.

Fitzroy is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Fitzroy decides to pull guard. Fitzroy throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Santos passes Fitzroy's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Fitzroy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Santos is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fitzroy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fitzroy. Santos pushes down on Fitzroy's leg and manages to get into half guard. Fitzroy is trying to control but can't.
Fitzroy is trying to stand up here but Santos is controlling him well. Santos is trying to work for a kimura but Fitzroy is defending well.
Fitzroy is looking to escape. Fitzroy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santos on the ground. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Santos blocks the strikes from Fitzroy.

Santos is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos prevents Fitzroy from improving his position. Santos is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Fitzroy! Fitzroy is in all sorts of trouble here.
Santos is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Fitzroy is surviving well by controlling Santos's body position as best he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fitzroy is squirming around, avoiding Santos's attempts to control the action. Santos looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fitzroy is trying to escape the mount.
Santos swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Fitzroy is now in Santos's guard. A big mistake from Santos there, giving up the dominant position! Fitzroy gets to his feet - Santos follows without any prompting. Santos doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fitzroy counters with a shoot takedown. Santos fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fitzroy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Santos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Santos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fitzroy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Santos is tightening it up a little... Fitzroy has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Fitzroy reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Fitzroy taps out! nice BJJ there by Santos!
