Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dilbert Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Correa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chavez comes to the cage accompanied by When Worlds Colide by Powerman 5000. Eric Correa will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dilbert Chavez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Correa! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Correa misses with an uppercut. Chavez saw that one coming. Correa throws a big shot that misses. Correa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chavez circles away quickly and effectively. Chavez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dilbert Chavez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Correa misses with a jab, cross combination.
Correa drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Correa fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Chavez fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Chavez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Correa.

Chavez swings and misses with a shot to the body and Correa counters with a stiff right hand. Correa takes a shot right to the bread basket. Correa connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Chavez's hands. Chavez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Correa moves away. Chavez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Chavez looks to score with a jab to the body but Correa is just out of range. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chavez misses with a shot to the body and Correa counters with a lovely shot to the body. Chavez throws a looping overhand right but Correa ducks down to avoid it. Correa keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Correa lands an overhand right. Correa is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Chavez rather than just go for the knockout. Chavez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That was a close round but I would say that Dilbert Chavez will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

That sent Correa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Correa looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Eric Correa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Chavez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chavez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Chavez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dilbert Chavez dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Chavez misses with a wild body shot. Correa throws an overhand right that lands on Chavez's shoulder, as Chavez tries to avoid the shot. Correa gets caught flat footed, as Chavez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Chavez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Correa taking a bit of punishment here - Chavez scoring with strikes. Chavez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Correa keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chavez controls the position from side control. Chavez tries to score with some ground and pound. Correa controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Chavez throws an elbow but Correa slips to the side and avoids it well. Chavez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Chavez has control of an arm but Correa manages to advance to Chavez's back! Chavez looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. I really don't envy Chavez right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chavez is keeping busy.

Chavez manages to reverse the position and now he's in Correa's guard. Nice work there by Chavez.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chavez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Correa swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chavez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Chavez is stalling in the full guard. Chavez trying to control the position from guard on top but Correa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dilbert Chavez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Chavez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Correa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Dilbert Chavez showed his dominance in that final round. Well Chavez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
