The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeYoung closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Larkov quickly recovers to half guard. Larkov is trying to stand back up but DeYoung is controlling him
DeYoung slows the pace down in half guard. DeYoung wants to lay and pray for a moment but Larkov keeps working. DeYoung decides to stand and escape the position. Larkov ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Larkov scores with a hook to the body. DeYoung takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. DeYoung is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Larkov clinches. DeYoung on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Larkov has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Larkov makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A frustrated look appears on Larkov's face as he tries to break the clinch. DeYoung tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Larkov avoids it. Larkov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Larkov with a lazy takedown attempt and DeYoung counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larkov tries to kick DeYoung off but DeYoung keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Larkov is trying to escape back to his feet but DeYoung uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Larkov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but DeYoung is controlling him well. DeYoung decides to stand up, so the ref orders Larkov to his feet. Larkov with a nice cross. Larkov gets in close and instigates a clinch. DeYoung lands a nice knee to the body. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Larkov is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. DeYoung is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Larkov pulls him back up using the underhooks. DeYoung pulls guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. DeYoung pushes a forearm under Larkov's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Larkov is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
