Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aldo Parise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aldo Parise! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Harper! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harper throws a nice head kick!
Harper tries to clinch but Parise moves out of range. Harper has a takedown stuffed. Daniel Harper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Harper fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck for Parise with that takedown attempt. Horrible takedown by Parise or perhaps it was just good defense by Harper which made him look bad. Harper fails in his attempt to clinch. Parise fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aldo Parise. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harper tries a head kick but it misses.
Parise shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Parise showed some decent athleticism there. Parise is looking to take a break and control but Harper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Parise passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Harper! Parise dominating with strikes here. Harper is wriggling around trying to escape.
Parise with a couple of short strikes. Parise can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Harper is looking to escape. Harper keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parise is landing with some decent strikes but Harper is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Parise throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Harper tries to lock up and control but Parise gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Parise cracks Harper with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Harper is rocked! Parise landing punches. Harper is still in real trouble! Can Parise finish him? Parise is working for a guillotine from mount but Harper frees his head quite easily.
Parise is breathing heavily. Harper keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Parise connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Harper seems to have recovered his senses. Parise can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Harper is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harper is in all sorts of trouble here.
Harper tries to hold on but Parise postures up. Harper is wriggling around trying to escape.

Parise postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Harper looks a forlorn figure.
Parise has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Harper's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Parise goes for an armbar but Harper turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Harper. Parise looking to control.
Parise is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Parise scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Parise is on top in guard.
Harper looking for a sweep. Not yet Harper, not yet. Parise works a leg free and moves into half guard. Harper looks like he's trying to stand up.

Parise seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harper does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Harper landing a few short strikes. Harper is looking for a sweep. Parise is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aldo Parise dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Parise shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Harper as he avoids it easily. Parise shoots in but Harper avoids the takedown attempt easily. Harper tries for a takedown but Parise circles away easily and Parise counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Parise is looking to advance position but Harper won't allow it. Harper is staying active underneath Parise, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Harper is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Parise pulls his head out easily. Parise has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nice strikes from Parise there. Parise is trying to control the action in half guard but Harper is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Harper trying to control but Parise postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Harper tries to clinch up and Parise counters with a shoot takedown. Harper fights it but they end up in guard. Harper tries to strike from the bottom.
Parise looking to pass the guard. Harper is trying to control the position but Parise postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Parise throwing strikes but missing. Harper is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Parise slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Harper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parise gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Parise stopping the sweep attempt from Harper. Harper should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parise wants to control from the top but Harper keeps moving. Harper looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Parise wants to pass the guard but Harper is keeping the position. Harper is trying to control the position but Parise postures up. Harper will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Harper closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Harper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Parise keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parise tries to control but Harper manages to take his back. Parise turns into Harper and is now in his guard.
Harper can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Parise controls the pace. Parise with a nice head shot there. Parise sitting in guard here, content to control. Parise pushing down on Harper's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Parise sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Harper defending well though. Parise is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Harper is just riding it out for now. Parise eventually gives up the hold. Harper wants to improve his position but Parise is controlling well.

Parise wants to take a breather but Harper is having none of it. Parise looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Parise seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Harper keeping control of the position. Parise drops an elbow to the side of Harper's head. Harper is trying to maintain the position but Parise is very close to passing his half guard. Harper moves into full guard.

Aldo Parise dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Harper doesn't succeed with the takedown and Parise counters with a shoot takedown. Harper fights it but they end up in guard. Harper looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Parise trying to control but Harper is working from the bottom. Parise postures up in Harper's guard and throws a big left but Harper blocks it. Parise postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Harper trying to keep a closed guard but Parise is proving a slippery customer.

Parise trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harper is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Parise is controlling him. Harper had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Parise is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Harper Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Parise's back instead. Harper gets his hands free as Parise looks to control. Harper trying to control. Harper is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Parise. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Harper missing with strikes. Parise defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Harper's arms. Harper is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Parise has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Parise rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harper looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Harper is looking to stand back up but Parise counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Harper. Harper avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Parise. Harper manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Harper is trying to control the action in half guard but Parise is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Harper landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Parise looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Harper takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Parise is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Harper trying to control from half guard but Parise is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Harper looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Parise has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Harper is working away from the top position though.

Parise is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Harper has momentary wrist control but Parise slips an elbow through the middle. Parise slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Harper keeping moving, preventing Parise from controlling successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Aldo Parise showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Parise, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
