PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cyril Kivel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rose has chosen Soothsayer as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Kivel. Rose shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kivel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Kivel seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Rose preventing the sweep. Kivel is controlling Rose's posture. Kivel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kivel is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rose rolls with it to try and escape but Kivel cranks on the arm and Rose is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Cyril Kivel!
