Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberts comes into the arena with Jedi Mind Tricks- "blood in blood out" blaring out of the sound system. Kerr comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Scotland The Brave [Instrumental] kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roberts clobbers Kerr with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Tom Kerr has been cut. Kerr has his takedown stuffed and Roberts counters with a left to the body. Roberts misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kerr.

Roberts sizes up Kerr with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Roberts swats him away and circles back towards the center. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roberts is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Kerr shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Roberts lands with a nice body kick. Roberts connects with a body shot that sends Kerr's belly button to the back. Kerr looks gassed! Roberts jabs at Kerr's body. Nice body kick there by Roberts. Tom Kerr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roberts fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Kerr takes a head kick and keeps coming.

That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
That has opened up Tom Kerr's cut even more. Kerr ducks straight into an uppercut from Roberts and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Kerr manages to regain guard straight away.
Kerr is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Roberts works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kerr is still in real trouble! Can Roberts finish him? Roberts missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kerr seems to have recovered his senses. Roberts is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kerr doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Roberts. Roberts missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Roberts throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Roberts throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Roberts is nestled in close to Kerr, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kerr controlling the position well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kerr can do anything to dispel that myth. Roberts thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Kerr to regain full guard. Roberts throws a strike but Kerr rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roberts looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Kerr trying to control the position from guard on top but Roberts is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kerr working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Roberts's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerr is looking to work some ground and pound but Roberts has wrist control. Roberts working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kerr. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Kerr looking to pass the guard. Roberts has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kerr is looking to work some ground and pound but Roberts has wrist control. Roberts is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kerr defends well. Kerr with a flurry of punches that miss. Kerr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Roberts keeping moving, preventing Kerr from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roberts is looking for a triangle but Kerr pushes his legs off easily.

Kerr postures up in Roberts's guard and throws a big left but Roberts blocks it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Roberts looking for a guillotine here but Kerr defends easily.
Kerr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Roberts works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Roberts dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tom Kerr's cut. That's time! Roberts's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Kerr looks to land a left hand but Roberts moved out of range nicely. Roberts throws a jab when Kerr was well out of range. Roberts scores with a leg kick.
Roberts lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kerr at a distance.
Roberts is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Roberts slips under a jab. Roberts moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Roberts tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kerr was well out of range. Poor timing from Roberts. Roberts lands an overhand right. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Roberts walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kerr checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Roberts is looking to wear down Kerr with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Kerr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roberts manages to avoid it. Kerr misses with a body shot.
Roberts connects with a crisp jab. Kerr is breathing heavily. Roberts cracks the inside of Kerr's front leg. Roberts fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kerr. Roberts scores with a leg kick.
Roberts is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Roberts thuds his right hand into Kerr's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The cut above Tom Kerr's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts connects with a looping right hand.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Roberts here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Roberts lands a body shot.
Kerr takes a body punch but keeps moving. Kerr stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Roberts. A jab lands there for Roberts.
Tom Kerr's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Roberts scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Kerr takes a shot right to the bread basket. Kerr takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tom Kerr's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
