Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ditte Gaetan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Get out of my way. Patrick Diaz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Patrick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ditte Gaetan! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Gaetan checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Diaz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gaetan swivels and escapes. Jab by Diaz. Gaetan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Diaz as he jumps to the side. Gaetan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Diaz's head. A combination from Diaz does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Ditte Gaetan has been cut. Gaetan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Diaz moves into the clinch. Diaz is pressed up against the cage. Gaetan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Diaz down to the mat. Diaz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Patrick Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ditte Gaetan. Gaetan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A big head kick from Diaz and Gaetan is sent sprawling to the canvas! This has been an exciting period of action! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Diaz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Gaetan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Diaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Gaetan is retaining full guard. Gaetan keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Patrick Diaz. Diaz throws a sloppy head kick and Gaetan moves out of range easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice combo by Diaz! Oh, that's hurt him - Gaetan falls to the canvas and Diaz follows him into side control.
Gaetan is rocked! Diaz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Diaz trying to control the position but Gaetan is working away. Diaz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gaetan has escaped the position, nice work there. Diaz swings around for an armbar but Gaetan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Diaz's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz has his foot on Gaetan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gaetan works his way back into a safe position though. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gaetan trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Diaz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gaetan is aware though and is defending well. Diaz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gaetan wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving. Diaz throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Gaetan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gaetan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Diaz is keeping the position for now. Diaz manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gaetan is trying desperately to land a takedown but Diaz is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Gaetan. Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gaetan is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Gaetan circles away and we're back to standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Diaz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ditte Gaetan's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nice shot by Gaetan. Nice cross by Diaz. Diaz clinches up with Gaetan and pushes him back against the cage. Diaz pulls Gaetan into guard.
Gaetan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Diaz is proving hard to escape from. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gaetan has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Diaz to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Gaetan is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Diaz pulls down on the head and he's put Gaetan to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Patrick Diaz!
