Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Dinero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atilla Da (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Andrew Dinero has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrew Dinero!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Atilla Da!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da defending well as Dinero loads up on a big left hand.

Da fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dinero to the ground. Da is now in Dinero's guard.

Dinero is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Da defends well.
Dinero is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Da must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Da wants to control from the top but Dinero keeps moving.
Da stays in close to Dinero's body and controls the position.
Dinero wants to sweep but no luck.
Da engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Atilla Da wasn't active enough on the ground.
Dinero throws the left hand but Da avoids the punch easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Da misses with a low kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dinero. Da does a little dance to reset his feet.
Da takes a swing at Dinero's ribcage but misses.

Da shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Da throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dinero works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dinero is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Da tries to free his leg and advance position but Dinero is retaining full guard.
Da throwing strikes from guard but Dinero blocks nicely.
Da engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Da trying to control but Dinero is working from the bottom.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Atilla Da has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Da lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dinero's sensitive parts.

Da shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Da working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Dinero wants to get back to his feet.
Da trying to mount his opponent but Dinero defends it.
Dinero is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Da scores with a couple of nice shots.

Da slows the pace down in half guard.
Ground and pound from Da.
Da throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Dinero is in trouble now - Da has advanced to mount!
Da is landing with some decent strikes but Dinero is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Dinero tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Da cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dinero is in a horrible position here. Da smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Da goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Dinero is on top in guard.
Dinero works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Da has his hands clasped together around Dinero's back. He's all about the action.

Dinero is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Da doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dinero.

Dinero is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Da has managed to free his arm - good work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dinero tries to pass to full mount but Da defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Atilla Da dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Da waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dinero.
Da fails with an attempt to clinch.
A punch combination from Dinero misses.
Nice defenses there by Da.
Dinero ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Da moves away.

Da shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Dinero tries to get to full guard but Da has control of the leg.
Da wants to free his trapped foot but Dinero is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Dinero is trying to maintain the position but Da is very close to passing his half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Da trying to control the pace.
Da tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dinero knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Da thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Da lands strikes from half guard.
Da not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Dinero is trying to get back to full guard.
Da working Dinero over with strikes.
Da is pressing down on Dinero's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dinero is holding on for now.

Da is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Da looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Atilla Da has got the better of the ground game so far.
Da is just content to waste time from the top position. Dinero takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Dinero had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Da defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dinero looking to control.
Da trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Da throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Dinero wants to control the position but Da says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Dinero is refusing to be controlled, as Da sits in half guard.

Da is controlling the pace.
Dinero tries to kick Da off but Da keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Dinero taking some punishment here, with Da in his half guard.
Dinero wants to improve his position but Da is controlling well.
Da drops an elbow to the side of Dinero's head.
Dinero is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Da scores with a couple of nice shots.
Nice strikes from Da there.
Da winds up and cracks Dinero with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Da controlling the action here.
Da is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Da working over Dinero with some ground and pound. Dinero looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Dinero looks like he's trying to stand up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Da wants to take a breather but Dinero is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Da lands a nice short elbow.
Da working Dinero over with strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Atilla Da showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Dinero has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Da.

Da drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Da is looking to take a break and control but Dinero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dinero is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Dinero is working to avoid the ground and pound but Da connects with a decent elbow.
Dinero tries to bench press Da off him but Da keeps the position.
Da has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Da working away.
Da is looking to take a break and control but Dinero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A big shot lands for Da! That's hurt Dinero! Will he recover? Da fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
