The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Recksun misses with an attempted mid kick.
Recksun avoids the head kick by Malek.
Recksun swings for the body but Malek moves out of range.
Recksun shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Malek pinned against the cage. Malek gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Malek tries to clinch up.

and Recksun counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Recksun ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Malek throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Malek swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Recksun walks into a stiff left hand from Malek.
It looks like Hugh Recksun has been cut.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Malek.

Malek tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Recksun paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Malek tries a head kick but it misses.
Malek throws a jab but it's blocked by Recksun.
Malek throws a solid leg kick but Recksun takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Malek.
Jai Malek is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Malek dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Recksun. That did some damage!
Malek pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Recksun moves out of range as Malek strikes.
Recksun throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Recksun looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Recksun moves away from the strike by Malek.

Malek throws a body punch but Recksun moves out of range.
Malek throws a leg kick
and Recksun counters with a nice uppercut.
Malek throws the left hand but Recksun avoids the punch easily.
Malek ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Malek swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Recksun throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Malek.
Malek circles away from the clinch attempt.
Recksun throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Malek counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Malek takes a swing at Recksun's ribcage but misses.
Recksun is looking to chop away at Malek's legs.

Malek throws a nice head kick!
Malek just misses with a punch to the body.
Recksun moves out of range of the leg kick from Malek.
Malek missing with a left hand there. Recksun was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Malek slips a jab and a cross from Recksun.
Malek swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Recksun staying out of range there.
Malek throws out a powerful jab.
A chopping leg kick lands by Malek.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Malek pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Recksun walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That has opened up Hugh Recksun's cut even more.
Recksun throws a low kick, looking for Malek's leg but Malek calmly moves out of range.
Recksun goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Malek scores with a jab to the body.
Recksun looks gassed!
Malek throws a lazy right hand but Recksun sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Recksun does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Recksun moves away from the strike by Malek.
Jai Malek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Malek just misses with a punch to the body.
Malek lands with an overhand left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jai Malek dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hugh Recksun's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A jab from Malek finds it's way through Recksun's defenses.
Good shot there by Malek.
Recksun misses with a series of wild punches.
Malek cracks Recksun with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Malek has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Recksun to stand back up!
Recksun is rocked!
The cut above Hugh Recksun's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Recksun moves in looking to clinch but Malek pushes him off.
Jai Malek is winning the standup battle so far.
No luck for Recksun with that takedown attempt.
A combination from Recksun does no damage.
Malek misses the jab.
Malek feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Recksun's calf.
Recksun is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Malek throws a head kick that misses.
Recksun keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Malek displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Recksun throws out the jab.
Recksun on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Hugh Recksun's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hugh Recksun's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
